How self-reflection and kindness are helping me bloom in this season. And why I believe they’ll help you too.
Hello friends,
It’s been a minute—how are you doing? I can’t believe it’s already the 1st of May! I’m so full of gratitude that we’ve made it through the first quarter of 2025. If you know me, or you’ve followed my journey for a while, you’ll know I’m big on gratitude. There’s always something to be thankful for, especially when we choose to look for it.
As I reflect on the past four months, so much has happened. There have been challenges, growth, and victories, and I’m incredibly thankful for it all.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the power of self-reflection, taking intentional moments to pause and look back on recent experiences, conversations, work, or even emotions. It’s such a valuable tool for growth. But I’ve also been reminded of something just as important: the need to be kind to ourselves.

It’s easy to fall into perfectionism, especially as women, mums, career-driven people, or anyone juggling multiple roles. I’ve been on that journey too, trying to do everything “just right.” But I’ve found so much freedom in shifting my focus from perfection to progress.
That shift has been game-changing for me. I’ve learned to reflect without being harsh. Instead of beating myself up for what didn’t go perfectly, I now ask: What can I learn? What went well? What can I carry forward? Being kind to myself during those reflective moments has led to more growth than criticism ever could.
So as we enter May, I want to encourage you: Take time to pause. Reflect on what’s gone well, what hasn’t, and what you’ve learned. And while you do that, be gentle with yourself. Whether you’ve smashed your goals, taken just one small step, or you’re still figuring things out—that’s OK. Truly.
Life is full—many of us are caring for families, building careers, maintaining homes, nurturing relationships, and still trying to find moments for ourselves. That alone is a huge accomplishment. So, even if things haven’t gone exactly as planned, the fact that you’re here, showing up, is worth celebrating.
Let’s continue choosing gratitude, progress over perfection, and kindness toward ourselves. Those are the real wins.
What about you?
Do you practice regular self-reflection? What’s one thing you’re grateful for so far this year?
Share in the comments—I’d love to hear from you!
As for me, I’m grateful for life, my community, and the quiet confidence that with God by my side, the dreams He’s placed in my heart will come to pass—in His perfect time.
Until next time,
With all my love,
Esther xx
